Market Data: In The First Quarter, The Export Of Textile And Clothing Reached US $65.1 Billion, Up 44% Year On Year

According to today's statistical news from the General Administration of customs, in the first quarter of this year, China's textile and clothing exports reached US $65.1 billion, a year-on-year increase of 44% (in terms of RMB, a year-on-year increase of 34%), which was 5.3 percentage points lower than the growth rate of national goods export trade, and increased by 15.6% compared with the first quarter of 2019 (the same period level before the epidemic). Among them, textile export was 31.81 billion US dollars, with a year-on-year increase of 40.3% (in terms of RMB, a year-on-year growth of 30.6%); clothing export was US $33.3 billion, with a year-on-year increase of 47.7% (in terms of RMB, a year-on-year increase of 37.5%).

In the first quarter, China's export of anti epidemic textiles such as masks remained at a high level. The export of clothing continued the recovery growth trend since the second half of last year. The stable and efficient textile industry chain and supply chain still showed strong comprehensive international competitiveness.

In March, China's textile and clothing exports to the world reached US $18.93 billion, up 22.8% year-on-year (13.4% in RMB terms). Among them, the textile export was US $9.67 billion, with a year-on-year increase of 8.6% (in terms of RMB, a year-on-year increase of 0.3%); and that of clothing in the current month was US $9.25 billion, a year-on-year increase of 42.3% (in terms of RMB, a year-on-year increase of 31.4%).
