Famous Designer Paco Rabanne Died At The Age Of 88

Paco Rabane, a famous perfume and fashion designer, died at his home in France at the age of 88.

Puig, the parent company of his brand, confirmed his death. The company said that he "left a deep impression on several generations with his radical fashion concept, and his legacy will continue to exist".

Rabanne is famous all over the world for her eccentric costume design.

Jos é Manuel Albesa, the fashion president of Puig, praised Rabanne's works, saying that it "makes crossing boundaries attractive".

"Who else can induce fashionable Parisian women to speak up and buy dresses made of plastic and metal," Mr. Alberta said. "That radical and rebellious spirit made him different: there was only one Labane."

Rabanne was born in a military family in the Basque region of Spain, near the city of San Sebastian. His father, a colonel in the Republican Army, was executed by the nationalist army of General Francisco Franco during the Spanish Civil War in 1936.

His mother once worked as a seamstress for the designer Cristobal Balenciaga. After the Kuomintang army occupied Madrid and won the war, her family moved to Paris in 1939.

After growing up in the French capital, Rabanne became an architecture student of l'e cole Nationale des Beaux Arts, where he made money by drawing fashion sketches.

After working in the construction industry of a concrete manufacturer for some time, he began his fashion career, designing jewelry for Givenchy, Dior and Balenciaga.

Then in 1966, he launched his own fashion house of the same name - Paco Rabane - which won him international praise.

His design has not only won praise, but also caused controversy. His first series is called 12 non wearable dresses made of modern materials, which angered French fashion media after models wore sharp metal and other unlikely materials.

In 1968, he signed an agreement with the Puig family, a fashion and perfume industry heavyweight based in Catalonia. This transaction marked his entry into the perfume industry, which eventually became synonymous with his name.

His first perfume, Calandre, is still available today, while Lady Million, famous for her colorful gold bottles, maintains control of the market.

His innovation extends to all aspects of his business. He was one of the first perfume designers to launch one of its products online in the mid-1990s.

But he is also known for his provocative outburst. At different stages, he claimed that he had lived many times, had reached the age of 78000, had seen God and had been visited by aliens.

In 1999, he predicted in his book "Fire in Heaven" that Paris would be destroyed when the Russian Mir space station fell to the earth later that year, which caused controversy. He said that he had foreseen the disaster from the works of French astrologer Nostradamus in the 16th century.

In 1999, Rabane retired from the fashion industry after becoming one of the most important innovators in the industry. In the next 24 years, he rarely appeared in the public eye.

In a statement on Paco Rabane's official Instagram, the brand praised him as a "visionary" and called him "one of the most pioneering fashion figures in the 20th century".
