Bangladesh's clothing workers will increase their wages in the next three months.

After the workers staged a large-scale protest and blocked a major highway, a minister announced the increase of the wages of the workers.

New wage bureaus made up of union representatives, manufacturers and industrial experts, and the establishment of new basic payment levels, taking into account the new standard of living brought about by inflation.

There are about 2 million 500 thousand garment workers in Bangladesh.

The minimum wage is about 1700 Taka / month, or $25 / month, and Bangladesh is considered one of the cheapest manufacturing countries in the world.

The wage level was determined in 2006 after a series of deadly protests.

About 35000 garment workers blocked a main highway in the country. The highway was cheap in the capital of Dhaka and the port city of Chittagong, and garment workers demanded about 5000 Tucca / month wages.

They say they will continue to protest before their demands are met.

Last year, Bangladesh's exports amounted to $15 billion 560 million, about 80% of which was generated by the clothing sector.

There are about 4500 garment factories in Bangladesh, bringing about 40% jobs for the country.

Bangladesh's wages to clothing workers are below the poverty line, which is the main reason for the unrest in the clothing sector.
