More than 800 years ago, the imperial street of the Southern Song Dynasty, which is now Zhongshan Road, is rarely recorded. Fortunately, archaeologists use their hands to raise a layer of veil.

The water coming out of the dye house dyed the river nearby.

Archaeologists boldly speculate.

Coincidentally, the ruins of the handicraft workshop, such as stoves, pools and drains, were also found in the Ming and Qing Dynasties.

"Is the dye house operation on South Zhongshan road extended from the Southern Song Dynasty to the Ming and Qing Dynasties?" this is a difficult problem in historical data that does not contain any answers.

Wang Guoping said that this archaeological discovery should be shown to the common people, who used to think that Zhongshan Road was the Southern Song imperial street, not the royal architecture (such as the temple), or the official yamen (such as the six provinces in three provinces). In fact, there are also civilians in Zhongshan Road. Through the exhibition, we can get a better understanding of the life of the Southern Song Dynasty and understand the history of Hangzhou.
