Affected by unfavorable factors such as temporary anti-dumping duties imposed by EU on China's leather shoes products, China's leather industry exports declined in the first half of this year.

Statistics show that in the first half of this year, the export value of China's leather industry was ten billion and seven hundred million US dollars, and the export growth rate dropped by one point two percentage points.

Data show that in the first half of this year, China's footwear products (including leather shoes, rubber shoes, textile shoes and other footwear products) exported 9850000000 US dollars, an increase of sixteen point three percent over the previous year, but the export growth rate dropped by seven point seven percentage points over the same period last year.

Among them, the export amount of leather shoes was three billion and six hundred million US dollars, an increase of eleven point seven percent over the previous year, an increase of fifteen percentage points over the same period last year.

The European Commission has decided to impose a provisional anti-dumping duty of four point eight percent to nineteen point four percent on leather shoes produced in China. This discriminatory practice on Chinese enterprises has greatly affected the export of leather goods in China.

At present, China's shoe-making enterprises and related departments are actively responding and defending.

Su Chaoying, Secretary General of China Leather Association, said that China's market is open. While actively introducing high-quality foreign raw materials, new technologies, new equipment and talents, China is also increasing imports of high-grade leather products and footwear products from abroad, including the EU.

Since 1994, the Chinese government has carried out six large-scale autonomous tax reductions, and the average tax rate of footwear products has dropped from forty-five percent to twenty percent.

In fact, in recent years, China has increased imports of high-grade leather products including EU products, and its volume and amount have increased by two digits.

The latest statistics show that in the first half of this year, the import value of China's leather industry's main commodities was US $2680000000, an increase of fifteen point three percent over the same period last year, and the import value of footwear products was US $110000000, an increase of sixteen point nine percent over the same period last year.
