College Of Textile And Clothing, Nantong University

The Institute of textile and clothing, Nantong University, was founded in October 2004. It was one of the earliest departments founded by Nantong University. Its predecessor was founded in 1912 by the famous industrialist and educationist Zhang Jian in Nantong. It was named the Nantong textile specialized school in the following year. It went through several developing periods such as Nantong Textile University, Nantong University, Nantong University textile department, Nantong Institute textile department and so on, and trained a large number of textile professional and technical personnel. Among them, there were 2 academicians of the Chinese Academy of engineering and 2 vice ministers of the Ministry of textile industry, becoming the cradle of "Chinese textile engineers".

In 1952, the national department adjustment was moved to Shanghai, and the related departments of other institutions were set up to the East China Textile Institute of Technology (now Donghua University).

In 1977, the school was rebuilt. In 1981, it began to recruit two specialist specialties, namely cotton spinning and weaving. In 1985, it began to recruit textile engineering majors. In 1989, it had the right to grant bachelor's degree, and became a master's degree in 2006. Now it is a brand specialty of Nantong University.

The clothing design and engineering specialty set up in 1992, after 10 years of efforts, has developed from a single garment engineering specialty to three universities, including engineering, design, performance and so on. The advantages of professional disciplines are beginning to show, and the foundation of professional integration has also been formed. Now it is a specialty of Nantong University.

The textile and Clothing Institute of Nantong University now has 5 teaching and research sections, 1 Experimental centers, 2 research institutes and 1 library and reference rooms, including textile engineering, textile materials and products, light chemical engineering, fashion design and engineering, clothing art and design.

The experimental center consists of textile material laboratory, textile specialized laboratory, clothing specialized laboratory, computer laboratory and studio.

It has advanced equipment such as scanning electron microscope, FAST fabric style tester, spinning processing equipment, nonwovens processing equipment, automatic fabric proofing machine, multifunctional sewing equipment, large inkjet printer, plotter and so on, serving teaching and scientific research.

At present, there are 78 faculty members and 54 full-time teachers, including 23 professors and associate professors, 42.6% higher vocational education, 44 teachers with master's degree and 81.5% master's degree.

Over the past 4 years, all the staff members have devoted themselves to teaching research and scientific research. Over 200 papers have been published in journals above the provincial level, 3 teaching materials have been published, 5 monographs have been published, 7 provincial and municipal level science and technology progress awards have been obtained, 10 patents have been obtained, and 4 scientific research achievements have been pferred.

The staff received nearly 10 awards from above the provincial level, and the students received nearly 50 awards from above the provincial level.

Good achievements have been made in the research of high performance fiber products and processing technology, and 1 of the three prizes of provincial science and technology progress have been obtained, with "Nantong Key Laboratory of new carbon materials" and "Nantong Dasheng textile engineering and technology center".

In the new Siro yarn and fabric development and Jiangsu Dasheng Group Co., Ltd. and other enterprises, the provincial and municipal scientific and technological progress three prize 2.

Relying on our institute, the Nantong municipal government has established the "Nantong textile and clothing technology research and development and product testing public service platform".

At the same time, we have actively carried out research on new dyeing and finishing technologies and environmental protection auxiliaries, pferred double-sided electrostatic sand granding technology and mesh gauze to enterprises, and achieved remarkable economic and social benefits.
