Vietnam Textile and Garment Association (Vitas) said that there are about 3000 in Vietnam Textile and garment enterprises Among them, foreign-funded enterprises account for about 25%, but the export amount accounts for 60% of Vietnam's total export of such products.

In order to enjoy the advantages brought by TPP, FDI enterprises from South Korea and Taiwan will continue to expand their factories to meet export demand. Although they do not directly participate in TPP negotiations, many Chinese spinning, weaving, dyeing and finishing enterprises also try to use TPP concessions to invest in textile, dyeing and finishing plants in Vietnam.

Although Vietnam hopes that TPP will make Textile and garment industry There has been a breakthrough in growth, but the investment of Vietnamese enterprises in surrounding industries and raw and auxiliary materials is very sporadic, much worse than that of foreign-funded enterprises. As a result, not only the export amount has always been lost to foreign-funded enterprises, but also the preparation for enjoying the advantages brought by TPP is slower than that of foreign-funded enterprises.

It is expected that the global garment trade will continue to grow in 10 years, and the amount of global garment trade will double to about $2 trillion by 2025. India, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Pakistan and other countries with textile and garment industry development will have market advantages, and China's market share will shrink. However, whether Vietnam can make full use of the preferential treatment brought by TPP depends on the investment mode of Vietnam's textile and garment industry.

At present, several Vietnamese enterprises are also making efforts to invest. Vietnam? The export amount of Vinatex in the first half of this (2013) was equivalent to that of last year, but the import amount of raw and auxiliary materials declined sharply, and the rate of Vinatex's self production exceeded 50%. Vinatex has successively invested in several spinning plants, weaving plants, dyeing and finishing plants. In the second half of 2013, Vinatex will start to build and complete three garment factories in Guangyi, Pingding and Shunhua.
