Exports Of Silk At Ningbo Port Have Doubled Over The Same Period Last Year.

According to Ningbo customs statistics, from 1 to November, Ningbo port accumulatively exported 1 million 719 thousand meters of silk, worth 4 million 920 thousand US dollars, up 1.4 times and 97.9% respectively compared with the same period last year, and the average export price of silk was 2862 US dollars / km, down 17.4%.

Its main characteristics are: all exports in general trade mode.

Pakistan, ASEAN and the United Arab Emirates were the top three export markets in the export market. Their exports were 736 thousand M, 355 thousand M and 274 thousand M, respectively, 13.1 times, 80.5% and 8.4 times respectively, and 3 accounted for 79.4% of the total export volume.

The main reasons for the doubling of silk export at Ningbo port are: on top grade garments, some international brands begin to use more environmentally friendly, comfortable and beautiful silk fabrics; some silk products, such as silk household textiles, which have a large consumption of silk, have become an important product in the market and support the development of the industry; because silk products have no quotas in Europe and the United States, and other textile products are in rapid turmoil due to trade friction and export environment, many merchants have begun to pay attention to silk products, so as to reduce the risks brought about by other textile products.

There are still some hidden worries in the development of the silk industry. It is worth paying attention to: the natural cost of silk raw material is much higher than that of cotton, hemp and chemical fiber. The price of cocoon silk fluctuates greatly, and the silk is cheap to hurt the farmers. In some areas, the situation of cutting down mulberry trees has already appeared, which brings new hidden danger to the smooth and healthy development of silk industry.
