Xinjiang has diversified development based on cotton spinning, which has become a highland of Chinese textile manufacturing and a hot spot for investment and entrepreneurship.

From 2020 to 2023, the total export volume of textile and clothing will remain above 300 billion US dollars for four consecutive years, contributing more than 50% to the growth of the world's total export volume of textile and clothing, ranking first in the world for 30 consecutive years. China's textile manufacturing capacity is unparalleled, standing on the top of the world industry. In 2023, six textile related enterprises will be listed in the Fortune Global 500, and four textile enterprises will be listed in the World Brand Laboratory Global 500. The integrity, security and advancement of the industrial system have been steadily improved. The industry serves the national economy and the people's livelihood, and makes constructive contributions to stabilizing economic development, balancing the balance of payments, nurturing development momentum, and enhancing cultural identity. It is of special importance in the process of Chinese modernization.

From January to May, the industrial added value of the textile industry increased by 4.2% year on year; The retail sales of clothing, shoes and hats, knitwear and textiles above the designated size nationwide reached 585.6 billion yuan, up 2.0% year on year; The retail sales of online clothing products increased by 9.0% year on year; The export volume of textiles and clothing reached US $115.84 billion, up 1.4% year on year. The industrial benefits have gradually improved. From January to April, the operating revenue of enterprises above designated size increased by 6.3% year on year, and the total profit increased by 31.7% year on year. Policies such as trade in of old equipment are favorable, effectively enhancing industry investment confidence. From January to May, the completed investment in fixed assets of the textile industry, clothing industry and chemical fiber industry increased by 13.4%, 14.8% and 4.7% year on year respectively. The industry has become a strong support in stabilizing the economy, expanding domestic demand, optimizing the structure and providing credit.
