Us And Mexico Textile Groups Jointly Resist Chinese Products Enjoying Illegal Regional Preferences

Textile groups in the United States and Mexico have agreed to jointly prevent China from forging a certificate of origin and shipping goods into Central America in order to enjoy regional trade preferences. This is one of the measures taken to increase the competitiveness of North American textile industry.

The two countries hope that the textile industry will also include the threat posed by China's subsidies to the textile industry and regional infrastructure.

The National Textile Association (NCTO) and the Mexico Textile Association (CANAINTEX) in North Carolina both said they would cooperate with the officials of the two governments to combat counterfeit goods entering the two markets, especially the illegal use of Chinese textile yarns and fabrics, but claimed to be able to apply to the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) or the Central American Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA-DR).

NCTO and CANAINTEX also accuse the Chinese government of unfair subsidies to the textile industry, which pose a great threat to the competitiveness of the North American textile industry.
