It Is Estimated That China'S Cotton Textile Exports Will Continue Negative Growth In The First Half Of 09 Years.
The head of the Ministry of industry and information technology, 3, said that, due to the impact of the international financial crisis and the export market downturn, the export of Chinese cotton and cotton products will continue to maintain negative growth in the first half of 2009.
The operation of China's cotton textile industry in 2008 is generally rather difficult. The growth rate of gauze output has dropped further, exports of cotton textiles and cotton garments have declined, investment in fixed assets has declined, profit growth has continued to decline, and the number of employed personnel has decreased.
According to statistics from the Ministry of industry and commerce, the total export volume of China's cotton textiles and cotton garments in 2008 amounted to 71 billion 700 million US dollars, down 0.41% from the same period last year. Textile exports amounted to $20 billion 800 million, an increase of 14.16% compared with the same period last year, and exports of cotton garments were 50 billion 900 million US dollars, down 5.35% from the same period last year.
The head of the Ministry of industry and Commerce said that the profit growth of China's cotton textile industry will continue to decline in the first half of 2009, and the whole industry will be more difficult. Since the fourth quarter of 2008, the relevant departments of the state have issued a series of supporting policies for the textile industry, including raising the export rebate rate, issuing six countries, and formulating the textile industry's adjustment and revitalization plan. These will play a positive role in China's cotton textile industry to overcome difficulties and restore confidence in the development of the industry.
