Outbreak Of The Epidemic, India'S Garment Industry Lost A Large Number Of Orders! 8.7 Billion Yuan Was Lost In One City Alone
Tirupur city in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu is an important base of Indian garment production. Affected by the epidemic situation, Indian garment industry suffered heavy losses.
This is a garment processing factory in Tirupur, Tamil Nadu state in the south of India. There are more than 17500 such garment factories in the region. 60% of the knitted garments in India are produced here, and many multinational FMCG products are processed here.
According to the chairman of the clothing export association of Tirupur City, India, international garment companies have to launch new garments every month, and garment factories need to closely cooperate with the order requirements. After the second wave of new crown pneumonia in India, Indian garment factories have been unable to meet the requirements of customers for more than two months, which may eventually lead to long-term loss of international customers.
According to Indian media reports, affected by the epidemic, some multinational clothing retailers have moved 15-20% of their orders to other countries. During the second wave of new crown pneumonia, the city's clothing industry lost at least 100 billion rupees, or 8.7 billion yuan. India's clothing industry provides about 12 million jobs. Indian industry insiders say the blockade has a huge impact on manufacturing.
